Woman Charged over Fraudulent Online Car Sale

In Sangre Grande, Trinidad, a 33-year-old woman named Chinara Collingwood is set to face legal proceedings following a Fraud Squad investigation into a fraudulent online car sale. Collingwood was officially charged with larceny on March 3rd in relation to a deceitful online ad. The case revolves around an online ad for a white Nissan Wingroad, priced at $50,000, for which the victim paid a $6,000 down payment. The car was never delivered, and all efforts by the victim to reclaim the down payment proved futile. Collingwood was arrested after a search warrant was executed at her home. She has been granted bail of TT$30,000 and is due to appear before a High Court Master on March 9, 2026. Authorities continue to caution the public about online transactions for high-value items like vehicles.
