Ex-PM Rowley Accuses Augustine of Poor Governance in Tobago

Former Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley has criticized Chief Secretary Farley Augustine’s governance in Tobago, particularly in relation with the Blue Wave Harmony cargo vessel’s out-of-service status and reduced sailings. Rowley, who operates livestock pens in Tobago, claimed that the lack of opposition voices in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) and the Tobago parliament has led to operational challenges for island producers. Without a feedmill on the island, feed must be shipped from Trinidad, a process that has been disrupted due to the absence of a fixed cargo schedule and fewer sailings. This, according to Rowley, has put his livestock and other producers’ supplies at risk, describing it as a crisis for his farming operations. Despite these challenges, Rowley continues to invest in Tobago. At the time of mentioning, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine had not responded publicly to these claims.
