Carnival 2026 Providers Need Municipal Approval

The Port of Spain City Corporation has issued a notice to all service providers for Carnival 2026, informing them of the need for municipal approval before they can operate in the city during the Carnival season. The notice, which was released on social media, states that this requirement applies to all providers transporting food, beverages, portable toilets, or music equipment into Port of Spain. The Corporation is accepting applications from February 4 to February 13, 2026, during operating hours of 8.00 am and 2.30 pm at their offices on 2–4 Knox Street. They are urging bands and service providers not to procrastinate and ensure full compliance before the Carnival. The corporation warned that failure to apply would be considered a breach of the Public Health Ordinance, Chapter 12 No. 4, and the Municipal Corporations Act, Chapter 25:04, and would attract the relevant penalties.
