**Sofia Municipality Secures 42 Used Articulated Buses for Busy City Lines**
Sofia, Bulgaria – The Sofia City Municipality has signed a contract to purchase 42 used high‑capacity articulated buses. The vehicles are intended for the city’s most heavily trafficked routes, including lines 94, 204 and 280, which serve the Student City area.
The municipality aims to have the buses delivered by November, providing additional capacity on the busiest routes during the upcoming autumn season. The acquisition is part of a broader effort to upgrade the city’s public transport fleet.
“We want to increase capacity where it is most needed and continue modernising the fleet,” said Deputy Mayor for Transport and Urban Mobility Viktor Chaushov. “These 42 buses are a concrete step that will deliver extra capacity this fall. At the same time, we are investing in new buses, trams, trolleybuses and electric buses to permanently improve the quality and reliability of Sofia’s public transport.”
The contract was announced by the municipality’s transport department and is expected to enhance service levels on the selected routes.
