Mystery Surrounds Death Of 11 Year Old Student
The death of 11 year old Arianna Ramdial, a Standard Four student of Caroni SDMS Hindu Primary School, has left the public searching for answers as conflicting accounts emerge about the circumstances leading to her passing.
According to relatives, the young girl died in hospital after being admitted several days earlier with complaints of illness. Family members said Arianna had been experiencing pain in her shoulder along with fever, headaches and vomiting in the days leading up to her death.
A close relative claims the pain began after Arianna was allegedly pushed against a concrete sink at school by another student, which may have injured her shoulder. The family says she later developed additional symptoms and was eventually taken to hospital for treatment.
The relative explained that Arianna’s condition worsened over several days. She was initially treated and discharged from hospital with medication after doctors reportedly diagnosed gastroenteritis. However, when her condition deteriorated again, she was taken back for further medical attention and later admitted.
Officials from the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS), which operates the school, expressed sadness over the child’s death and confirmed that investigations are underway. The organisation’s secretary general said early information suggested the child may have had bruises and that previous reports of possible abuse involving the child had been made.
However, the family strongly disputes those claims, insisting doctors found no visible signs of violence during medical examinations. Instead, they allege that Arianna had been bullied at school for some time, including being mocked about a skin condition.
The child’s death has deeply affected the school community, with students and staff reportedly struggling to cope with the tragedy.
Authorities, including the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and the Ministry of Education, have launched investigations into the case. Officials say the exact cause of death will be determined after a post mortem examination.
As the investigation continues, Arianna’s family and the wider community are hoping that the truth surrounding the young girl’s final days will soon come to light.
