Beetham man shot during dispute, hospitalised
A 51-year-old man is receiving medical treatment after he was shot during a dispute with another man in Beetham on Thursday night.
According to police, the incident happened at about 8 p.m. along 22nd Street. Investigators said the victim was liming outside his home when he became involved in an argument with a man from the area.
Police said the victim later went inside his house, but the suspect reportedly followed him, and the confrontation escalated into a physical fight. During the incident, the injured man ran from the house towards the Priority Bus Route when a gunshot was heard.
He later told investigators he felt a burning sensation to the right side of his neck before collapsing along Main Street, Beetham.
An ambulance was called, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers of the Port of Spain Area East CID and the Inter-Agency Task Force Duncan Street Post are continuing investigations.
