A 36-year-old police officer, who reported his own SUV stolen from a car park near the Chaguanas Police Station last year, has been arrested in connection with the alleged theft. The officer was taken into custody as part of ongoing investigations into the incident. His black Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, worth roughly $299,000, was reportedly stolen in the early hours of August 13, 2025, only to be found the next day in Longdenville, missing several parts. The officer had claimed he hadn’t given anyone permission to use or remove the vehicle. However, investigators now suspect his involvement in orchestrating the theft, although specific charges are yet to be announced.
