A police constable, PC Nkosi Nunes, attached to the Northern Division, has been charged with indecent assault following allegations of forcibly kissing a female officer. The incident allegedly happened while both were on duty at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain on March 20th, 2025.
The case was officially reported to the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) on June 27th, 2025, sparking an internal investigation. Deputy Commissioner of Police Intelligence and Investigations Natasha George, Assistant Commissioner Richard Smith, and Senior Superintendent Lindon Douglas coordinated the probe.
Investigators from the PSB, under the supervision of Woman Superintendent Bacchus and W/Ag Sgt McLean, later arrested and charged Nunes under the Sexual Offences Act. Prior to laying the formal charge, legal advice was obtained from Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard.
Nunes has since appeared before the Port of Spain Master’s Court where he was granted $200,000 bail with surety. The matter has been adjourned to June 18th, 2026.
