Minister Mohit Pledges Reforms for Fairer Access to Social Support

Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, Vandana Mohit, has announced a renewed commitment to reforming the Standardised Means Test used to determine eligibility for government assistance. This initiative aims to promote greater fairness and transparency in accessing social support for all citizens.

During her recent statements, Minister Mohit highlighted that the Means Test has remained unchanged since 2016, which has led to the exclusion of many vulnerable individuals from necessary assistance programs. She expressed her concern regarding the inequities created by the outdated criteria and emphasized the urgency of addressing these shortcomings.

The Minister indicated that her Ministry is poised to take swift action to rectify the issues within the Means Test. She believes that these improvements will not only enhance the accessibility of government support but also ensure that assistance is distributed more equitably among those in need.

Under her leadership, the Ministry is committed to ensuring that all citizens have fair access to the resources they require. Minister Mohit’s confidence in implementing these changes is evident as she seeks to foster a more inclusive support system for the community.
