Child Kidnapped During Vehicle Theft Found Safe; Police Uncover Stolen Vehicle Cache in Tobago

In a dramatic turn of events, a four-year-old boy was found safe after being kidnapped during a pickup theft in Sangre Grande. The incident, which occurred around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, involved a suspect known to the boy’s family who drove off with the youngster still inside the stolen white Nissan Navara. Thankfully, swift action by the local police resulted in the child’s location a short time later, unharmed. A 40-year-old man was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident, and the child was medically examined, confirming his good health.

Meanwhile, a separate operation unfolded in Tobago. The Criminal Investigation Department made a significant discovery during an intelligence-led exercise; a silver Nissan AD Expert Wagon, reported stolen from the San Juan district earlier this month. The abandoned vehicle was outfitted with suspicious items believed to be linked to criminal activity. These included multiple sets of number plates, wireless communication devices, and clothing.

The vehicle was processed by crime scene investigators and later taken to the Shirvan Road Police Station as investigations continue. These developments, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, reflect their ongoing efforts to swiftly respond to serious crimes and disrupt criminal networks across the country. The police service remains vigilant and committed to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
