On Thursday night, Alyssa Phillip and her mother were released. Following this, Phillip made a public plea for continued support amidst ongoing demonstrations. The call to action was made in a heartfelt social media post shared on Friday morning, in which Phillip conveyed her gratitude to her supporters. “By God’s grace, my mom and I were released yesterday night,” she wrote, “Thank you for your unwavering support. I love y’all endlessly.”
She also used the platform to urge the public to participate in a gathering at the Forensic Science Centre. The gathering, named ‘Protest #17’, remains on schedule and is planned to start at 3 p.m.
Phillip emphasized the critical need for public participation, stating that community support is of utmost importance during this time. Her plea for support comes at a time of increasing public concern, with demonstrations continuing to take place.
The movement continues to draw attention and gather momentum across Trinidad and Tobago, with supporters expected to assemble later today.
