Lorenny Solano participa como invitada especial en el Foro Global de Socios del Panda 2026 en China

Lorenny Solano, a Dominican journalist, communicator and animal‑rights activist, attended the Global Panda Partners Forum 2026 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. She was invited by Xinhua News Agency and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Dominican Republic. Solano is president of the Federación Dominicana por los Derechos de los Animales (Fedda), president of the Fundación LASO, and founder of the Ciudad de Ángeles project. Her work focuses on animal protection, rescue, and public awareness campaigns. The forum, which gathered more than a thousand participants—including government officials, scientists, researchers, representatives of international organizations, conservation groups and business leaders—aimed to exchange experiences and build partnerships for biodiversity and environmental sustainability. Its theme was “Protecting the panda’s habitat, building a beautiful world and sharing opportunities.” A central topic was the “panda miracle,” which highlighted China’s conservation efforts that have moved the giant panda from endangered to a global symbol of successful wildlife preservation. The event underscored the role of cooperation among governments, scientists, institutions and communities in species recovery. Key speakers included Sichuan Governor Shi Xiaolin, Xinhua News Agency editor‑in‑chief Lyu Yansong, and Li Yunqing of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. Professor Shahbaz Khan, director of UNESCO’s Regional Office for East Asia, discussed international cooperation in education, science and sustainability. Yang Rui, director of the National Parks Institute at Tsinghua University, presented on green development and national park management. Shawn Dixon, president and CEO of the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, highlighted the panda’s role in fostering Sino‑American friendship. The forum also unveiled the 2026 Green Development Consensus, a declaration aimed at strengthening international cooperation in sustainability, environmental conservation and ecological development. Sessions covered green development, natural resource conservation, national park management, cultural tourism, innovation, economic development and strategic alliances. In addition, the forum introduced a film production titled “The Panda Miracle: In Black and White, Telling China’s Story,” which uses the panda’s conservation history to explore the relationship between nature, culture and identity. Solano’s participation reflects her experience in animal‑rights advocacy and her leadership in initiatives promoting respect and protection for all living beings. The Global Panda Partners Forum 2026 reaffirmed that biodiversity conservation requires collaboration among governments, scientific institutions, civil society organizations and engaged citizens.
