Prvi tramvaj na Sarajevskoj za dva dana! Ovo su imena stajališta kojima će ići produžena ‘osmica’

Mayor Tomislav Tomašević announced at a press conference that the new tram line in Sarajevo is expected to open this month. He said the project was completed on 15 September, but a technical inspection of the line and the substation built along it could not begin until a separate substation in Zapruđe was finished. That substation, a distinct project, had received the necessary permits, after which a 25‑day testing period started. The tram itself is scheduled for a two‑day test run, and if everything proceeds as planned, operations should begin by the end of the month. Andro Pavuna, head of the tram authority, explained that the line will be extended to the existing line 8, connecting Mihaljevac to Zapruđe. The extension adds 1.9 km and will be renamed Mihaljevac – Hrelić. New tram stops on the extended section will be named Ukrajinska, Murati, Kamenarka and Hrelić. The Sarajevo road (Sarajevska cesta) opened to traffic at the beginning of October. Mayor Tomašević noted that citizens have waited for this project since 1981, while he was born in 1982, and expressed satisfaction that a project that had been pending for more than four decades is now being realized. The total investment for the road is 16.6 million euros, including VAT, and an additional 5 million euros were spent on property‑legal matters, bringing the overall cost to more than 20 million euros. The road runs from the Zapruđe roundabout to a junction leading toward a future viaduct via the Ranžir railway station. The mayor said that the viaduct, being constructed by the state company HAC, is still incomplete and is expected to take several more years. In the meantime, the road will continue to serve residents of New Zagreb‑East. Although the tram line is slated to open in about a month, the road was opened earlier because the inspection station for the tram line still needed to pass a technical review. To build the avenue, 104,000 square metres of land were purchased, and construction began two years ago. A large portion of the new infrastructure is underground. The tram line works cost 14.6 million euros, including VAT.
