Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed supporters at the Likud central offices in Jerusalem on the evening of the election, calling for the formation of a “national right‑wing government.” He said that Likud is the country’s largest party and that the right‑wing bloc has secured a “decisive majority.” Netanyahu added that the final results of the vote would be announced within the next one or two days, stating, “This was only the introduction,” and that the results would confirm Likud’s status as the largest party in Israel. Netanyahu criticized Israeli television networks, alleging that they had tried to discourage his supporters from voting by presenting estimates that favored opposition parties. He said, “We are still waiting for the real results,” and that the claim that “Likud is the largest party in Israel” had sparked cheers among the crowd. He also asserted that the right‑wing coalition had a decisive majority, despite exit polls indicating that the coalition had not yet reached the 61 seats required to form a government. “We must form a national right‑wing government,” Netanyahu said, adding that Israel should not rely on Arab parties, which he described as “opposed to our very existence.” During the speech, Netanyahu highlighted Israel’s achievements in the wars that followed the terrorist attack on 7 October 2023 by Hamas. He declared that Iran was “weaker than ever” and Israel “stronger than ever.” He further stated that, in cooperation with former U.S. President Donald Trump, Israel would eliminate the Iranian threat, calling it a “historic, unique opportunity” to do so. Netanyahu also condemned parties willing to cooperate with Arab parties, saying it was “shameful” that such parties existed. He questioned how political forces could speak of “an alliance of those who serve their military duty” while collaborating with parties that attack Israeli Defence Forces soldiers. He attacked what he called “criminal political investigations” against him, asserting that Israel was poised to eliminate the Iranian threat “once and for all” with Trump’s help.
