Lluvias de este martes tendrían su mayor intensidad entre las 15:00 y las 17:00, según el Inamhi

Guayaquil experienced a break from yesterday’s heavy rain, enjoying a sunny morning. According to the latest forecast, the city will see a partially cloudy start to the day, followed by occasional thunderstorms in the afternoon and a weak storm in the evening. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) warned that on Tuesday, 27 October, rainfall will continue through the afternoon, with the strongest intensity expected between 15:30 and 16:00. Inamhi also noted that the pattern of rain and storms across Ecuador’s coast is expected to remain intense in the coming days, a trend attributed to the ongoing El Niño phenomenon, which has entered a phase of heightened activity. Precipitation is projected to concentrate in the provinces of Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Los Ríos, Manabí, Guayas, Santa Elena, Pichincha, Bolívar, Loja and the Galápagos Islands. Inamhi’s analysis of rainfall for September and October 2026 shows that most of the coastal region has already exceeded 50 % of the normal rainfall for the rainy season (January–April). For example, Guayaquil has recorded 683.9 mm of rain between September and October, compared with the typical 1,055.6 mm that the city receives during the January–April period.
