أساتذة باحثون تقدميون يدينون مشاركة أساتذة مغاربة في لقاء بإسرائيل

The Progressive Researchers Teachers Current (تيار الأساتذة الباحثين التقدميين) of the National Union of Higher Education (نقابة الوطنية للتعليم العالي) issued a statement on Monday, 19 October 2026, condemning the participation of Moroccan professors in a conference held in the occupied city of Ascalan. The union said the event, which promoted the use of Moroccan Jewish heritage under the banner of “coexistence,” was an act of academic normalisation with Israel. It added that the conference took place while Israel was accused of continuing a war against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, involving bombardment, killings, siege, starvation and forced displacement. In its statement, the union rejected any partnership with Israeli universities and argued that the Moroccan professors’ involvement contradicted the union’s anti‑normalisation stance and its support for the Palestinian cause. The union reiterated its condemnation of what it described as genocide against Palestinians and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, affirming their rights to freedom, independence and self‑determination. The union also stressed its opposition to all forms of Israeli infiltration and normalisation in Morocco, noting that participation in such meetings conflicts with the Moroccan public opinion that rejects normalisation in any form.
