Ariu i ri ngordh pasi goditet nga një veturë në autostradën Shkup–Tetovë

A horse that was struck by a vehicle on the Skopje‑Tetovo highway near the Gllumovë toll point died on Friday evening. The animal, weighing approximately 60–70 kilograms, sustained severe injuries after being hit by a Volvo truck with a license plate registered in Gostivar. Although the horse initially showed signs of life, it later died. The incident occurred about two kilometres past the toll point. Police officers were on the scene, and the Central Crisis Management Centre notified the State Environmental Inspectorate through its chief inspector for nature protection, Pejo Kirovski. The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that the vehicle was driven by Xh.D., a 36‑year‑old resident of Gostivar. Veterinary staff from the Skopje Zoo, led by Sasho Pançev, arrived at the scene in an institutional vehicle. Pançev reported that the horse was no longer alive. The horse’s body was transported that night to the laboratories of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at St. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, where an autopsy will be performed. The State Environmental Inspectorate has highlighted the urgent need to establish a rapid‑response team for wildlife incidents. It also noted that the highway should be equipped with protective guard rails, as mandated by public works regulations, to prevent animals from entering the road and causing accidents. The incident has drawn attention to the risk posed by wild animals on roads in North Macedonia, especially after a series of dog attacks in the Gostivar region the previous day. Authorities have called on drivers to exercise extra caution, particularly at night, in areas where wildlife may appear on the road.
