Yung Bredda Celebrates 27th Birthday After Another Strong Music Year

Trinidad and Tobago entertainer Akhenaton “Yung Bredda” Lewis is celebrating his 27th birthday today, October 3, entering a new year of life fresh from one of the biggest achievements of his career. Just two weeks before his birthday, Yung Bredda added a Caribbean Music Award to his growing list of accomplishments when “The Greatest Bend Over”, credited to Yung Bredda and Full Blown, captured Soca Song of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards. The awards ceremony was held on September 19 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain, as the Caribbean Music Awards staged its main ceremony in Trinidad and Tobago for the first time. For Yung Bredda, the Soca Song of the Year victory represented another milestone for a track that played a major role in his breakthrough 2025 Carnival season. “The Greatest Bend Over” helped him finish second in the 2025 Ultimate Soca Champion competition, while his calypso “We Rise” earned him third place in the National Calypso Monarch final. His ability to compete in both soca and calypso during the same season strengthened his reputation as one of Trinidad and Tobago’s versatile younger entertainers. Yung Bredda’s birthday has also marked important moments in his musical journey. On October 3, 2023, he celebrated his 24th birthday while launching his debut album, 3/10. The project marked another stage in his transition from an entertainer who built attention through freestyle performances into an artiste exploring a wider range of Caribbean music. Two years later, he marked his 26th birthday with his free King of Kings concert in his home community of Sea Lots. The October 3, 2025 event brought together several artistes while placing messages of peace, love and unity at the centre of the celebration. Now, his 27th birthday arrives with an even bigger accolade attached to his name. Winning Soca Song of the Year at the Caribbean Music Awards gives Yung Bredda another major achievement in a career that has continued to expand beyond the viral performances that initially introduced him to a wider audience. The achievement was also significant for Full Blown, the Trinidad and Tobago production duo behind “The Greatest Bend Over”, who were also recognised at the Caribbean Music Awards. As Yung Bredda celebrates 27, the occasion marks more than another birthday. It comes at a point when the Sea Lots-born entertainer can reflect on a journey that has taken him from online freestyles and community performances to major Carnival competition stages and Caribbean-wide recognition. For an artiste whose birthdays have repeatedly coincided with important career moments, October 3, 2026 arrives with another major reason to celebrate: a Caribbean Music Award and the title of Soca Song of the Year.
