Ukraine is preparing for a shift in weather patterns as a cold front approaches, bringing an end to the current period of warm, dry conditions. According to meteorologist Vitaliy Postrigan, the country will experience a significant cooling trend beginning Monday, September 21.
The upcoming weather shift is attributed to an Atlantic cyclone moving across the region, which will introduce cooler air from Scandinavia. From September 22 to September 25, the influence of cyclonic activity is expected to result in intermittent rain of varying intensity across the country.
During this period, temperatures are forecast to drop to between 7 and 12 degrees Celsius at night, with daytime highs ranging from 12 to 17 degrees Celsius. Despite the cooling, Postrigan noted that temperatures are not expected to reach the freezing point, meaning there is currently no threat to unharvested vegetable crops.
While the coming week will be characterized by cooler temperatures and rain, the forecast indicates that there will be intervals of sunshine. Postrigan stated that the current cooling is not permanent and that a return of warmer weather, often referred to as an Indian summer, is expected in the future.
Prior to the arrival of the cold front, Ukraine is expected to experience warm, sunny, and dry conditions throughout the weekend of September 18 to 20.
