Grammy-winning reggae artist Shaggy has announced the upcoming release of an official remix for his track Lottery. The new version features contributions from R&B singer Jeremih, rapper Rick Ross, and dancehall artist Skillibeng.
The remix is scheduled for release on September 11 through Ranch Entertainment and VP Records. The original version of Lottery, which also features Jeremih, was released on May 15 as the title track of Shaggy’s 13-track studio album. According to the artist, the project is centered on themes of self-belief and creative risk-taking.
Shaggy stated that the collaboration aims to blend different musical styles, noting that while each artist comes from a different lane, the chemistry between them works. He added that the addition of Rick Ross and Skillibeng elevates the track beyond the energy established in the original recording.
This release continues Shaggy’s career-long practice of blending reggae and dancehall with genres such as pop, hip-hop, and R&B. The artist has frequently utilized these cross-genre collaborations to expand the reach of Jamaican music to international audiences.
