Gas Malaysia, PETRONAS Gas kaji sambungan paip ke terminal regasifikasi Yan

Gas Malaysia Bhd and Petronas Gas Bhd (PGB) signed a Joint Study and Cooperation Agreement (JSCA) in Kuala Lumpur to examine the feasibility of a land‑based lateral pipeline that would connect the proposed Yan regasification terminal to the Peninsula Gas Utilisation (PGU) system.

The agreement, announced by both companies, outlines a collaborative study to assess the technical and economic aspects of constructing the pipeline. The Yan regasification terminal is a planned project aimed at increasing Malaysia’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing capacity. Linking it to the PGU system would allow the regasified gas to be distributed across the peninsula.

Gas Malaysia Bhd and PGB will jointly evaluate the project’s viability, including route selection, environmental impact, and integration with existing infrastructure. The study is intended to provide a basis for further development and potential investment decisions.

No specific timeline or cost estimates have been released at this stage. The companies have indicated that the study will be conducted in accordance with Malaysian regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

For further details, stakeholders can refer to the official statements released by Gas Malaysia Bhd and Petronas Gas Bhd.
