The local government of Santa Ana, Costa Rica, has announced a series of free public events to celebrate Children’s Day. The activities are scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at two locations: the Santa Ana Park and the Piedades Park.

Both venues will host inflatables, face painting, and appearances by children’s characters from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition to these shared activities, each park will feature a unique schedule of entertainment.

At the Santa Ana Park, the program includes a cimarrona and masquerade performance from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., followed by a musical children’s show from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. An urban clown show will conclude the event from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

The Piedades Park will feature a storytelling session from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., a children’s clown show from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and an urban clown show from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

These events are organized by the local government as part of an initiative to promote the use of public spaces and encourage family recreation. While Children’s Day is officially observed in Costa Rica on September 9, these celebrations are scheduled for the following weekend.
