**Nikita Porwal concludes 73rd Miss World campaign in Top 40**
**NHA TRANG, Vietnam** — India’s representative, Nikita Porwal, concluded her participation in the 73rd Miss World pageant on September 5, finishing among the Top 40 contestants.
While Porwal did not advance to the Top 20 stage of the competition, her placement continues India’s streak of reaching the semi-finals in eight consecutive editions of the pageant. The official Miss India organization commended her performance, stating that she represented the country with “grace, conviction and heart.”
During the finale, Porwal wore a mermaid-silhouette gown featuring a sculpted corset, intricate floral embroidery, and Italian tulle. She also participated in a cultural tribute to the host nation, Vietnam, by wearing a traditional Vietnamese *Ao Dai*.
The contestants who advanced to the Top 20 include representatives from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Senegal, Kenya, South Africa, Peru, the United States, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Malaysia, the Philippines, the Cook Islands, China, Vietnam, France, Spain, Belgium, Gibraltar, and Ukraine.
The event, held in Nha Trang, will conclude with the crowning of the new Miss World by the reigning titleholder, Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand.
