China restrict Tibetan volunteers, relief efforts in flood-hit Kyirong

**Chinese Authorities Restrict Volunteer Access to Flood-Hit Kyirong**

**DHARAMSHALA** – Chinese authorities have implemented strict movement restrictions in the Kyirong region of Tibet following recent flooding, according to reports from an exile-based source.

The measures reportedly prevent Tibetan volunteers from traveling to the disaster-stricken area to provide relief supplies or offer support to affected communities.

The source, who spoke to the news outlet *Phayul* on the condition of anonymity, stated that the restrictions have effectively barred individuals from outside the immediate region from entering the area to assist with recovery efforts.

Official Chinese state media has not yet issued a statement regarding the specific limitations placed on independent volunteer groups in the Kyirong region.

The region, located near the border with Nepal, has faced significant environmental challenges due to recent flooding. The reported restrictions on civilian relief efforts come amid ongoing concerns regarding the management of disaster response in the region.
