**Tunisia’s President Discusses Cross‑Border Cooperation with Libya’s Presidential Council**
*Tunis, Sept. 3* – Tunisian President Kais Saied spoke by phone with Mohamed al‑Menfi, the head of Libya’s Presidential Council, on Wednesday evening. The conversation, reported by the Tunisian Presidency, focused on strengthening ties between the two countries and addressing shared challenges.
Saied emphasized the importance of enhancing consultations to remove obstacles that hinder the movement of people and goods across the shared borders. He described the relationship between the two peoples as “fraternal” and noted that the bonds between them “transcend all other considerations.” The president highlighted that each side is concerned about the other’s security and is willing to support its neighbor in times of need.
The president also reiterated Tunisia’s support for Libya’s unity, stressing that a lasting solution must come from within Libya itself. He expressed confidence that Libyan leaders have the capacity to devise solutions that secure stability and promote prosperity, growth, and development for the country.
