**Levski Sofia Defender Christian Makun Declines Move to Greek Club Aris**
*Sofia, 2 September 2026* – Venezuelan centre‑back Christian Makun will remain with Levski Sofia for the upcoming season, according to reports from his native Venezuela. The 26‑year‑old is said to have turned down an offer from Greek Super League side Aris Thessaloniki in order to participate in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League with Levski.
Aris reportedly proposed a transfer fee of approximately €3.5 million for Makun’s registration rights. The Greek club, which finished fifth in the 2023‑24 Super League season, failed to secure qualification for European competition and therefore could not guarantee Makun immediate involvement in continental matches.
Levski Sofia, the Bulgarian champions, qualified for the UEFA Europa League and are preparing for the competition’s main phase. Makun, who joined Levski in the summer of 2024, has made 69 appearances for the club, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
Club officials did not comment on the specifics of the transfer negotiations, and Makun has not issued a public statement regarding his decision. The player’s continued presence at Levski is expected to bolster the squad’s defensive options as they aim to advance in the Europa League.
