**Menarini Indonesia Plants 1,600 Mangrove Seedlings in West Java and North Jakarta**
*Jakarta, 30 August 2026* – Pharmaceutical company Menarini Indonesia carried out a large‑scale environmental initiative on Saturday, planting a total of 1,600 mangrove seedlings along the coastal areas of West Java and North Jakarta.
The effort, titled “Roots of Hope,” began with the planting of 1,500 seedlings on the shoreline of Desa Hurip Jaya in the Babelan sub‑district of Bekasi Regency, West Java. The program concluded with the symbolic planting of an additional 100 seedlings in the Angke Kapuk Nature Tourism Park (Taman Wisata Alam Angke Kapuk) in North Jakarta.
President Director Idham Hamzah said the project reflects the company’s integration of corporate social responsibility (CSR) with its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives. In a statement released on Sunday, Hamzah described the cumulative planting as a response to the climate crisis, noting that mangrove forests can help protect coastlines from erosion and serve as effective carbon sinks.
The initiative was timed to coincide with the recent celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day on 17 August, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainable development in the region.
Menarini Indonesia’s “Roots of Hope” program is part of a broader trend among Indonesian businesses to adopt ESG‑focused activities, which have been highlighted in recent industry awards and government‑led sustainability campaigns.
