New leadership outlines plans for collaboration, advocacy and promoter development.

The Trinidad and Tobago Promoters Association has introduced its new Board of Directors, with the leadership team outlining plans to strengthen representation, collaboration and professional development across the country’s events industry.

The new Board was presented following the association’s first general meeting, where members discussed concerns, challenges and opportunities affecting promoters throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

According to the association, the meeting was intended not only to share ideas but also to listen directly to its membership as the organisation prepares for its next phase.

Among the priorities identified are creating greater value for members, strengthening relationships with government and corporate stakeholders, establishing active committees and helping to build a more collaborative, professional and sustainable events industry.

The new Board comprises:

Damian “Fram” Baboolal — President
Asha Atiya Greene — Vice President and Chair of Membership Drive & Retention
Nikki Hilaire-Roach — Secretary
Nicholas Gill — Treasurer
Ken Sambury — Public Relations Officer and Chair of PR & Marketing
Khama Philip — Board Member and Chair of Legislation & Licensing
Brandon Koo — Board Member and Chair of Events & Fundraising

The association said its leadership intends to work alongside members rather than operate separately from them, with committees expected to provide promoters with opportunities to participate directly in the organisation’s work.

The renewed focus on legislation and licensing is also significant for an industry whose operators regularly interact with government agencies, regulatory requirements, venues, corporate partners and other stakeholders when staging events.

Existing members are being encouraged to join committees and contribute to the association’s work, while promoters interested in becoming members have also been invited to contact the organisation.

The new Board says its objective is to turn a new leaf and move the sector forward through greater cooperation, stronger representation and a more sustainable professional environment for promoters across Trinidad and Tobago.
