What began as another encounter with an unwanted backyard visitor turned into quite an adventure for Rashida Alexander, who documented her efforts to catch a manicou she said had been hanging around her property for months.
According to Alexander, the manicou had been making itself at home around her yard for approximately five months, despite previous efforts to get it out.
The latest encounter began early in the morning when she spotted the animal taking refuge in a sapodilla tree.
Determined to finally deal with the situation, Alexander began trying to get the manicou out of the tree while her dogs remained nearby.
Once the animal came down, however, things became much more hectic.
The manicou darted across the yard as Alexander attempted to keep track of it, with her dogs becoming part of the commotion. Her reactions throughout the chase ranged from laughter to screams as she narrated what was happening around her.
With catching the animal proving more difficult than expected, Alexander eventually called on a family friend for assistance.
The pair worked to corner the manicou, eventually managing to trap and capture the longtime backyard visitor.
Alexander also joked throughout the encounter about what would become of the animal, including comments about manicou being eaten as wild meat by some people.
The video offered a lighthearted glimpse into an experience familiar to many people living in areas where wildlife occasionally finds its way into residential properties.
For Alexander, however, the encounter was particularly memorable after months of seeing the same unwanted guest around her yard.
After several failed attempts and one lively morning chase, the five-month manicou saga had finally reached its conclusion.
