Puerto Rico National Team manager Juan ‘Igor’ González has officially announced the 24-player roster that will represent the island in the baseball tournament at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. The squad, unveiled earlier this week, is built primarily from active players in the Superior Double-A Baseball League, featuring a balanced mix of 12 position players and 12 pitchers. Key names include infielder Yadiel Rivera, who brings six seasons of Major League Baseball experience, and outfielder Rubén Castro, a two-time Double-A MVP and batting champion. The pitching staff is led by left-hander Luis Leroy Cruz and 2026 Double-A Pitcher of the Year Anthony Borrero. Puerto Rico will compete in Group A alongside the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Curaçao, opening the tournament July 31 against the Dominican Republic at Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium. Group play continues against Cuba on Aug. 1 and Curaçao on Aug. 2, with medal matches set for Aug. 7.
