The Asian Legends League (ALL) is shifting its second season to Africa for the first time, with the tournament set to take place in Lusaka, Zambia, from July 30 to August 10, 2026. Organizers cited geopolitical tensions in parts of the Middle East and resulting logistical challenges as the reason for the move.
League Commissioner Chetan Sharma announced the decision, stating that while the league’s long-term vision is to host matches across Asian nations, the current climate forced a temporary relocation. ‘Season 2 promises to be bigger, more competitive, and more entertaining,’ Sharma said, confirming plans to return to Asia from next season.
The tournament will feature six country-based franchises: Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Pathans, Pakistan Panthers, and Rest of Asian Stars. Legendary cricketers including Yusuf Pathan, Shakib Al Hasan, Tillakaratne Dilshan, and Ambati Rayudu are among the headliners.
Fans have dubbed the competition the ‘Retired Players’ Asia Cup,’ and the league has rapidly gained popularity since its inaugural edition. The shift to Zambia marks a significant milestone as the tournament expands its global footprint.
