A motorcycle collision occurred on Wednesday evening along the Mibicuri Public Road in Black Bush Polder, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man identified as Jermaine Smart. The incident took place around 18:30 hours and involved a 14-year-old student, Swanti Culpepper, who attends Mibicuri Secondary School.
Reports indicate that Smart was traveling west on the roadway while Culpepper was heading in the opposite direction. It has been alleged that Culpepper’s motorcycle was being operated without its headlamp illuminated at the time of the collision. The impact of the crash caused both riders to be thrown onto the road surface, leading to multiple injuries for both individuals.
Residents and passers-by who witnessed the accident responded quickly, transporting the injured riders to the Mibicuri Public Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the medical personnel’s efforts, Smart succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital. Meanwhile, Culpepper regained consciousness while receiving treatment and was subsequently transferred to the No. 75 Public Hospital for further medical attention.
As of now, Culpepper remains hospitalized in serious condition. Due to the severity of his injuries, a breathalyzer test was not administered to the teenage rider. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash are ongoing, as authorities seek to gather more information regarding the incident.
