13 years ago, Chantel Henry, an Atlanta-based woman, attended a business conference in Las Vegas that would change her life. Prior to the trip, she had decided to cease pursuing unfulfilling relationships and had even written down the qualities she was seeking in a future husband. Little did she know her life was about to take a turn.
At the conference, she found herself drawn to a Trinidadian man. His calm demeanor and confidence struck a chord with Henry, and she felt an immediate connection. Despite not knowing where Trinidad and Tobago was on the map, she told him within 24 hours of their meeting that she would follow him wherever life took him.
Today, Henry and her Trinidadian husband are happily married, living in Trinidad and Tobago and raising their children. She has come to appreciate the slower pace of life, the connection to nature, and the opportunity for her children to grow up surrounded by fruit trees and outdoor adventures. The island lifestyle, according to Henry, is peaceful and fulfilling.
While she admits that living far from her family in the United States has its challenges, she maintains that the move has been well worth it. What started as a simple business trip has transformed into a beautiful journey, leading her to the love of her life and the family she always dreamed of building.
