Summer Gentle, a gospel artist with connections to both Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago, is preparing to launch her debut studio album titled “Jesus Saves” on May 30, 2026. The event will take place at the Moriah Seventh-Day Adventist Church located on Kaikan Street, North Ruimvelt, starting at 4:00 PM. In a departure from typical high-cost concerts, the album launch will be free to the public, aiming to provide a message of hope for young people facing mental health challenges.
Gentle’s musical journey began in a church setting, where she was influenced by her musically inclined father. Her early experiences in the church choir led her to realize her passion for music. At the age of 16, she performed the song “Mercy Says No” and received a strong emotional response from the audience, which confirmed her desire to pursue music professionally.
After signing a management and production contract with Artesian Music in June 2025, Gentle began working on her album. The title track, “Jesus Saved Me,” reflects her personal struggles with clinical depression that began at age 14. The album consists of 11 tracks that chronicle her journey from mental health challenges to spiritual resilience.
- Tracklist:
- “Innermost Thoughts” – A reflection on negative self-talk.
- “What If” – Contemplates the void of abandoning spiritual beliefs.
- “Patience” – A ballad about the virtue of waiting.
- “Jesus Saved Me” – Celebrates liberation from emotional struggles.
- “I Am Not Alone” – A reminder of spiritual companionship.
- “Love Circle” – Celebrates community support.
Gentle has also issued a message to young believers, emphasizing the importance of seeking support during difficult times and relying on faith rather than attempting to manage struggles alone. The album launch is anticipated to be a significant cultural event for the artist and her community.
