Residents of St. Joseph, Barbados, are enduring an ongoing water crisis, with some areas experiencing shortages for nearly five months. This situation has prompted many residents, like Heather Cumberbatch from Melvin Hill, to voice their frustrations about the lack of consistent water supply. Dolores Thompson, a lifelong St. Joseph resident, highlighted issues with the water tankers, noting that deliveries are often unreliable. In response to these concerns, local Member of Parliament Ryan Braphett has taken action by coordinating deliveries of water from the Barbados Water Authority and other suppliers. Over the recent long weekend, 5,000 gallons of bottled water were distributed to those in need, providing temporary respite amid the ongoing crisis. Residents hope for a long-term solution to their water supply issues as they continue to face daily hardships.
