Kaia Sealy is wanted for multiple crimes, including the fatal shooting of Joshua Samaroo in St. Augustine, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS). The TTPS issued arrest warrants for Sealy on May 21, 2026, following extensive consultations with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Sealy, a resident of Valsayn, is implicated in crimes committed on January 20, 2026.
The warrants include three counts of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to police officers and a separate count of manslaughter concerning Joshua Samaroo’s death. These charges were advised by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) after a thorough review of the comprehensive investigation file.
Despite the issued warrants, they had not been executed by the evening of May 21. In a related development, Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro clarified earlier statements made during a media briefing. The Commissioner made it clear that he had not stated that police officers were to be charged in connection with the incident. Instead, investigators had been instructed to proceed with criminal charges stemming from the January 20 incident.
