45-Year-Old Footballer Randy Ramcharan Tragically Dies During Over-40 Final Match

Tragedy struck at the Edinburgh 500 Masters Football Tournament as Randy Ramcharan, 45, a resident of Chaguanas, collapsed and died during the Over-40 final. The match was between Ramcharan’s team and the Defence Force Masters. Around 15 minutes into the game, Ramcharan requested to be substituted. Shortly after being seated on the bench, he shockingly collapsed.

Medical assistance was swiftly provided, and he was immediately rushed to the Chaguanas Health Centre. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, Ramcharan was later pronounced dead. A relative disclosed that the unofficial cause of death was believed to be a heart attack.

Ramcharan was not only a footballer but also a revered leader. He was a past student of St. Augustine Secondary School. Beyond the classroom, he served as both the team leader and a footballer for the St. Augustine Old Boys.

The news of his death comes as a shock to many, especially as he would have celebrated his 46th birthday next month. His loss is a major blow to both his team and the football community at large.
