A Miami woman was tragically killed while on vacation in Sint Maarten, marking a tragic end to what was supposed to be a joyous celebration of her sister’s birthday. Denisha Delancy, 29, from Liberty City, had traveled to the Caribbean island in March with her sister and a friend. On their first night, they went to a club called the White Rabbit where they met a man from Trinidad residing on the island.
The night took a grim turn when they decided to return home with the man, instead of their private driver. Denisha’s sister and friend returned to their Airbnb, while she chose to stay with the man. Hours later, they received a call from their concerned driver, alerting them that the man Denisha had been with was found dead.
Upon investigating, the police discovered the man was Quincy Damon Sylvester, a suspected drug lord. Both he and Denisha had been shot dead inside his vehicle. Surveillance footage from the night showed unknown men tailing Sylvester at the club, leading authorities to believe it was a targeted hit meant for Sylvester.
It seems Denisha was merely in the wrong place at the wrong time and became an unintentional casualty of a suspected drug-related feud. The incident has sent shockwaves through both Miami and Sint Maarten communities, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
