Point Fortin’s Borough Day celebrations will proceed as planned despite significant financial challenges faced by organisers.
Officials confirmed that the annual event, which is set to begin on April 11, will go ahead even after reduced government funding and the loss of a major corporate sponsor.
The withdrawal of support has reportedly left organisers facing a debt of approximately 300 thousand dollars. Despite this setback, local leaders say private sector support has helped keep the event alive.
Mayor Clyde James stated that discussions will be held with government officials to address the funding gap and ensure the long term sustainability of the celebrations.
