Government has outlined plans to construct three desalination plants aimed at providing long-term water security for Trinidad and Tobago.
Proposed locations include areas in Tobago, Moruga Tableland, and other underserved regions. Officials say the plants will reduce reliance on existing dams and improve water availability during dry seasons.
The projects are expected to significantly increase supply capacity, with thousands of households projected to benefit once completed.
Expressions of interest for the projects are expected to be issued shortly as part of the government’s long-term water strategy.
