A 25-year-old man from Morne Roache, Maraval, fell victim to a violent ambush last Friday afternoon in Diego Martin. The man was reportedly lured into a setup with the promise of purchasing an item from an unknown individual. The suspect instructed him to follow to a different location along Upper Rich Plain. Arriving near a mini mart, the situation rapidly escalated. A vehicle carrying three men arrived and blocked the victim’s van. Two of the men announced a robbery and began assaulting the victim, while the third man kept watch. During the attack, the assailants robbed the man of nearly $15,000 and forced him out of his vehicle. The victim managed to escape the ordeal on foot, leaving behind his van and personal belongings. With the help of nearby residents, the victim later returned to his vehicle, only to discover more cash missing. The police have since been alerted and are investigating the incident, which they believe to have been an orchestrated setup targeting the victim.
