Government has denied reports that vendors at Stabroek Market will be removed within the next three months, seeking to calm growing concerns among traders.
Local Government Minister Sonia Parag stated that no such plan exists and assured vendors that any future changes will involve consultation and collaboration.
The clarification follows reports that some vendors had been told they would be displaced as part of ongoing redevelopment efforts.
Officials confirmed that while improvements to the market, including roof repairs, are underway, no immediate relocation is planned.
