Eastern Pacific Operation Seizes 109 Bales of Cocaine, Six Arrested

An international operation conducted in the Eastern Pacific has resulted in a significant drug bust, marking a significant blow to illicit drug trafficking across the Americas. The joint effort involved the Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-South), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

These organizations collaborated to monitor suspected illicit trafficking activities at sea. Through a combination of intelligence sharing and coordinated action, this operation led to the seizure of 109 bales of cocaine and the arrest of six individuals.

The intelligence, which was shared with Costa Rican authorities, enabled the interception of a ‘go-fast’ speedboat believed to be carrying the narcotics. The operation’s success signifies the effectiveness of international cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking.

Officials have further emphasized that this mission demonstrates the ongoing regional cooperation to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs across the Americas. Investigations into this matter are continuing, as authorities work to fully dismantle these illicit networks.
