Residents gathered for a candlelight vigil in Grand Bahama to honor those battling kidney disease and remember those who have passed.
The event, held as part of World Kidney Day observances, brought together patients, families, and healthcare workers in a show of unity and reflection.
Organizers emphasized the importance of early detection, regular medical checkups, and managing conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, which are major contributors to kidney disease.
The local kidney center, which treats approximately 140 patients, continues to play a critical role in providing care and raising awareness within the community.
