An unexpected discovery sparked alarm at Movie Towne when a loaded firearm magazine was found in a shopping trolley on Thursday. The St. James Police have since launched an investigation into the incident which occurred mid-morning. Officers were called to the scene outside PriceSmart upon receiving a report of a suspicious item.
Upon their arrival, a team led by a corporal from the St. James Police Station was directed to a secured area, where the object in question had been relocated. The object was identified as a khaki-coloured magazine containing nineteen rounds of 9mm ammunition, abandoned in a shopping trolley.
It is still unclear who left the magazine there and what their intentions were. Officials have heightened security measures as a result of the find. Woman Cpl Duke, from the St. James Police Station, is leading the ongoing investigation. As of now, no further details have been released about the incident.
