The South West Regional Health Authority (SWRHA) has addressed concerns about the status of the Point Fortin Hospital, amidst claims that critical life-saving equipment has been relocated to the Couva Hospital. These concerns were sparked by a Facebook post from Point Fortin Borough Corporation alderman Kobe Sandy, who demanded answers about the hospital’s status and claimed that staff members were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements. In response, the SWRHA clarified that no such equipment has been moved and that any confidentiality agreements signed by their employees are voluntary, aligning with human resource procedures to protect their clients. The Authority also announced plans to expand its suite of clinical services in the future.
