The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has been offered a five per cent salary increase along with a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) amid ongoing negotiations with the Police Service Social and Welfare Association. The association has not yet accepted the offer, with discussions expected to continue in the coming weeks. The proposal is part of broader salary talks involving police officers who’ve raised concerns about rising living costs, work conditions, and compensation levels given the country’s security challenges. The negotiations between the association and the Government could significantly affect thousands of officers and the wider public sector wage negotiation environment.
