A private security officer, Tisha Badal, faces charges after allegedly obstructing police officers from entering a gated community during an armed home invasion. The incident occurred in the East Lakes community in Arima, where armed intruders invaded a woman’s home during her live Zoom meeting. When alerted, police arrived at the community, but the security personnel denied them entry, stating they had instructions not to allow unmarked police vehicles. Even when additional officers in marked vehicles arrived, they were reportedly refused entry. Although access was eventually granted after senior officers intervened, the suspects had already fled. This incident has sparked discussions about the balance between access control procedures in gated communities and police authority during emergencies.
