The nation of Trinidad and Tobago is in mourning following the death of renowned broadcaster and vocalist, Raymond Edwards. A stalwart in the music and media industry, Edwards dedicated over two decades to his craft. Starting his singing journey in 1993 under the mentorship of the late Chesterton Ali, Edwards went on to claim multiple Music Festival victories and titles, including Most Outstanding Vocalist and Male Vocal Champion. His debut album, ‘Ray of Hope’, was released in 2006, and he also performed with the international cast of the renowned Porgy and Bess. Beyond his vocal talents, Edwards was a prominent figure in the media, serving as the Senior Producer at Talk City 91.1FM, where he actively promoted local music. At the time of his death, he was employed as a Multimedia Producer at the Radio Unit, Office of the Prime Minister.
