Trinidad and Tobago’s First Citizens Bank has made an adjustment to the US dollar spending limit on its Mastercard Standard credit cards, capping it at US$2,000 per month for international transactions. The bank stated that the new limit, effective from March 10, 2026, will apply only to purchases made outside the country, including online and in-person transactions abroad. The bank also clarified that this change does not affect the local TT-dollar credit limits, which will remain the same. Amid ongoing foreign exchange constraints, various local financial institutions have had to manage and limit access to US-dollar spending on credit cards and other international payment methods. Customers may contact the bank via its secure online banking messaging system for more information or clarification.
